Nicki Minaj and MIA Wear Anna Dello Russo Favorite, Fausto Puglisi, for Super Bowl Halftime Show

Madonna wasn’t the only one wearing high fashion designers during the Super Bowl performance last night. She enlisted the help of Milanese designer Fausto Puglisi – a favorite of Anna Dello Russo – to create the Grecian cheerleader dresses worn by Nicki Minaj and MIA last night. The dresses, which Puglisi has been working on since last November, were embellished with crystals, spikes and embroidery.

“This was the most incredible and extreme experience ever. It’s Madonna—to work with her is an honor. The Roman Empire history and the emperor power is part of my DNA—I’m obsessed with Caligula and Caesar and Roman tradition and I always loved to mix this with American sportswear touches,” says Puglisi to Style.com.
