Christian Louboutin teams up with Jean-Francois Lesage for a Marie Antoinette-inspired shoe

February 3, 2009

Christian Louboutin put sex on heels and made women beg for more more more with his collections. First came the Tina, the Pigalle, the Anemone and oh yes that collection of sexy spikes for Rodarte. Now he’s at it again and this time, now matter how much you beg for more, he’ll give you just 36, shoes that is.

The mastermind behind the red soled shoe has teamed up with world-renowned embroiderer Jean-Francois Lesage, in a marriage made in French royalty heaven, to create an extremely limited edition Marie Antoinette-inspired shoe collection. “How limited?” you ask. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but to answer you question, only 36 will be sold. Yes 36! That means in order to slip your feet into one of these decadent shoes that look good enough to eat, it will cost you a pretty penny. The shoes will retail for $6,295 each but are worth it for any Louboutin collector. Each pair will be stamped with a limited-edition number, a specially designed box along with a book illustrating the collaboration process.

The Marie Antoinette inspired Christian Louboutin shoe collection will make its debut at the Christian Louboutin boutique in South Coast Plaza then make its way to the Louboutin boutique on Madison Avenue on February 26. For a collection like this, having a sugar daddy who can buy you everything doesn’t look so bad huh? If you are one of the lucky few to snag a pair, please take a picture and send it my way.
